LMRID are proud to advise that the Cape Town Clean Up of the section of the Liesbeek River that runs through its area was successfully completed by Straatwerk. LMRID sponsored this initiative and at the same time called on residents to join in. We thank those who came to assist and quote Straatwerk’s report below.
Good Morning All
Please note that on Saturday 18 February 2017 we participated in the Cape Town Clean Up operation which saw Straatwerk teams & a number of volunteers joining hands to clean a section of the Liesbeek River Trail from10 am to 2 pm. Two Straatwerk LMRID sponsored teams comprising 1 Foreman & 4 workers each did cleaning of the River Trail & its banks from Alma Road bridge up to the N2 Highway clearing mainly litter. A total of 76 orange refuse bags were gathered during the cleaning operation & all bags were placed at the River Club collection point. I am happy to announce that everything went smoothly.
